I qualified as a BfN helper, on Tuesday, and attended my first group meeting as an official volunteer today. It went well, but the badge made me nervous. Before, I was just a mum among mums; now I'm official, and women expect me to be able to help.

But it's ok.

I volunteered last night at the True Food market, too, because they were very short-staffed, and got my volunteer discount. And today we were able to make cookies and cake. I wasted ages putting faces on the cookies; I think they're very cute. I hope Linnea likes them too.

We also met "waggermama"'s baby, Pheobe, and gave Louis Linnea's doll buggy, so we had to go into town later and get a new one for him so she could have her old one back. Generous impulses are hard to handle well, I think. But she insisted that children with new baby sisters need buggies.

I am loving my MAMA MILK tshirt, from zazzle.com, and making loads of things I can't afford to buy yet, but will as soon as possible. Usual username. Usual heavy mothering, breastfeeding bias. I thought hard about it but I don't know how to make couldn't-breastfeed-but-supportive tshirts.

So. Still no USB keyboard. John Lewis wanted £30 for one; er, no.

Er, yeah. Over here, you can get decent USB keyboards for (the equivalent) of UKP 6-7.

Do you have a Staples or a PC World within your range? They tend to have decent cheap keyboards in most of the time. Oddly your other bet is probably Tescos who have a strangely good selection of useful bits and bobs.

How about "BREASTFEEDING: If you can, do!"? That's good for non-moms, too.
