She was found by someone wandering down the road, possibly around the corner. I had shock symptoms for several hours. I'm exhausted and not really able to type about it much.
She didn't exactly run away - she looked up, didn't see me (how?! no idea) and assumed I'd already left the shop, so went to look for me. Not sure how that works...
I have been in the same situation except after searching the marsh and adjoining beach, we found him fast asleep on the floor under his crib. It was a desperate half hour!
We lost Linnea when she was 3 and I was ill; after a search around the block she was found lying very very flat under the duvet on a bed - we'd checked under the bed, but not patted the duvet.
*Shudders*. How hideous for you. I'm so, so glad she was found safely.
We lost sight of Little Three at a huge play area a couple of years ago and it took about 15 minutes to find her. I can still remember exactly how that felt.

My sympathies. We had a couple of incidents with T (who is three) managing to wander off whilst we were camping in the summer. The longest 15 minutes of my life!
