Waiting impatiently for the garden

We have almost completely emptied our shed. Someone is supposedly coming to collect it this evening - he said he would dismantle it himself - and since almost all of what we wanted to keep fits into our much much smaller plastic garden storage cupboard with room to spare, that seems like a very sensible option. When the shed is gone we can move the children's playhouse to that end of the garden, assemble the new patio furniture, and trim the jasmine. At some point we'll want to scrub the paving slabs too because they are fairly grim looking.
I can't really begin to imagine how much bigger the garden will feel after all this.
Another thing we need to do is put more dirt on the potatoes in their pot.
Out the front, Rob has cleared up a lot of the mess, including cutting up our Christmas tree, and put the bins up off the path and the green waste in the green bag. We have some bricks we were hanging on to "in case they are useful" but they haven't been, so I have listed them on Freegle.
I think we need to put a box somewhere for Things To Take To The Tip - we have various little bits of electrical equipment which Freeglers don't want and charity shops can't take, which we could recycle if we could get it there - but it's a longish cycle, timewise, and best if we save it up for one trip rather than find ourselves needing to make several.
This isn't about the garden really, this is all pre-baby prep. We've also received the over-the-bath changemat. It's actually a £25 quid cot-top changer but it sits nicely over the bath like our home-made one did but much much lighter (and less strong, but that's ok; we were able to stand on the old one but why would we want to?) so we can change nappies in the bathroom even though it's incredibly tiny. This is useful with cloth nappies because a lot of the waste actually goes down the loo, not into the bin.

Date: 2010-05-27 05:57 pm (UTC)A lot of pre-baby organising, tidying and general clearing out of clutter is going on this end as well, I'm finding it quite exciting but that might be because I have just done started and this is my first heh.
