This morning, I had a shower, bathed both children, washed their hair and combed conditioner through it, got everyone dressed and made sure of breakfast, did two loads of laundry, cleared the table, made the beds, and left the house just before 09:30 to get the train. We met Mary (Nana is Linnea's Nana, Mary is Emer's Mary, says Emer) on the way to the Global Cafe, which was closed.
The people who had asked me to meet them there met me in the RISC shop and I bought the girls cartons of juice and flapjacks instead of their promised cafe-snack, and we all found an empty space to have our meeting instead.
They want to publish my work. They haven't decided quite what to do with it yet but wanted to meet me to find out what my expectations were. I had a lot of ideas in 90 minutes, and we've all gone home to think it over. One option includes me getting a book out for my birthday, but it might be mostly the same as what I've self-published so far; we're not at all sure.
Posters with the poems on are beyond them so I will look into doing that elsewhere.
After that I had to feed the girls properly so they had their first lunch and I had a snack, and then we met Becky and had a pleasant afternoon, including proving that La Senza stock nothing which will fit me, in any style.
Rob took the girls home from the John Lewis cafe and Becky and I stayed on to talk uninterrupted. Then Darrel and Becky both came back to our house for something to eat, and were very Emered indeed.
Linnea finally got to sleep before 9pm - first time since she got ill - but has been whimpering and crying in her sleep. Rob is already in bed and I will have a bath and go to bed as soon as I finish this.
We're hoping to go swimming tomorrow. For this, I need a swimsuit. I'm sure I had one...
