Tomorrow Rob is taking the children to see his parents, and I have to stay behind to collect the meat order and run various other Saturday errands, as well as doing pre-Nana-cleaning. I'm hoping to fit a bit of time alone in bookshop or cafe in there too but that will depend on how early I get out of the house; if I'm out by 9:30 it should all be manageable, but I don't want to leave before I've completed at least one load of laundry and put another on, because I just realised that a lot of guest bedding was stuffed into the cot in the spare room and wasn't counted when we did laundry earlier in the week.
I'm really hoping to speak to a pharmacist about Xylitol products for Emer's teeth. The internet is not forthcoming on non-chewing-gum things. Anyway, as far as I can tell Xylitol reduces plaque, rather than strengthening teeth, so perhaps it's not all that... on the other other hand, something to undo the harmful effects of eating food would be good, given that her teeth are made of paper and soap or something.
All this will be easier when my mother is here; she's diabetic so can't have sweet things anyway. Linnea and I have our treats while Emer's napping, on days when Emer naps. It's very restrictive.
The errands tomorrow are complicated by the fact that the trike had a slow puncture until we ran diagnostics today, at which point it metamorphosed into a fast puncture. (Metamorphosis is big in our house right now; Emer found a caterpillar in the bathroom yesterday and is astonished by the caterpillar->butterfly thing). The puncture - recurrent - is caused by a little sharp thing inside the outer tyre - the tyre is very strong and reinforced with wires, through the rubber, and one of the wires seems to have bent and left a sharp end poking into the soft inner tube.
I hope we've fixed it now. If we get another one we'll have to buy a new tyre; I have no idea what they cost or whether the spec we need will be easy to obtain. Perhaps we can buy them off the internet after I've looked everything up. That would be easiest for me.
