I intend to, at any rate. I had a HIDEOUSLY awful day and got home at 5:15 instead of, ohhh, 3 pm, and made pies. I washed my new pietins and dried them, rolled out the pastry from the fridge, lined the pietins, slung them in the oven with baking beads in, chopped up pre-cooked chicken from yesterday, sliced a couple of sweet potatoes, made instant gravy, mixed it with the chicken juices from yesterday, took the piecrusts out, filled them, rolled out lids, popped them on, put the pies back in the oven, and then Rob came home and I screamed and ranted at him until I was sane again.

Then Rob steamed a cauliflower and cleared the table. He's setting it now. We will eat, then I will pop up to the market and buy fooooooooood.

Linnea wants a heart-shaped birthday cake "Because," she says, "I love you." I bought the cake mold. Obviously. And an icing set, in case I come over all creative.

I also got a steamer insert for a pan, and a TEACOSY, which I have wanted for ages and ages. And a mesh thingie to pop over leftover food or pre-laid table food, to keep cats and flies off this summer. Why yes, I was in John Lewis Kitchen Dept, I was.

Linnea did well with the whole pants business again, though when we bad-temperedly arrived home she did end up puddling, because I howled and raged and stuck her in front of the TV while I prepped dinner, which was, frankly, stupid and not really doing my job.

We met a Swedish family in the John Lewis baby room and shocked them by saying hejdo on the way out. I'm not sure how to spell that, actually. They had a little boy called Oskar who looked very like my nephew Oscar (those are different O sounds).
