Food glorious food
Jan. 14th, 2008 03:44 pmWell, last night we had roast beef again with roast potatoes and brussels sprouts and celery. This evening I'm making a pie of the leftover meat, with gravy and onions, and we'll have it with sprouts and probably carrots or something. I also need to bake more bread because the white garlic isn't as filling as the wholemeal four-seed so it goes much faster. But it's delicious. I might do one white garlic and one rye and seeds.
Today I hung laundry outdoors for the first time in ages. My fingers went numb and purple but at least it won't be moldy and smelly.
Also today Linnea is at nursery school. Very strange. Emer is napping. This means I rolled out the pastry, cooked the filling etc, and had no interruptions. It's a most peculiar feeling. I did it on Saturday too - Rob took the girls out while I cleaned the house. Very strange. I do fear the housework fairy effect, but it was lovely to get the place clean so easily.
I have enough pastry left to make apple pie. I will buy apples tomorrow evening at the market.
Also, tomorrow I must try to redeliver the Christmas gift we left out in the rain before realising the recipients were in Canada, not just popped out for an hour and left the lights on.
