Friends and food
Jul. 15th, 2007 09:36 pmWe had a guest for the weekend, and I did 90 minutes' volunteer work for the True Food Co-op on Saturday, for which I got some free veg: sweetcorn, leeks, and plums. So this weekend we ate well. Steak and kidney pie, with potatoes, carrots and sweetcorn, on Saturday. Sausages, bacon, eggs and beans for breakfast today, with orange juice and bread and jam and so on. Oat and peanut cookies. And for dinner today, roast chicken, leeks, potatoes, sweetcorn, and cake for dessert. And the new bread is cooling, wrapped in a teatowel and a plastic bag so the crust stays soft.
A large part of it is getting enough sleep. And exercise.
I don't much enjoy cooking. But I quite like baking. And I enjoy having cooked.
I must work out how to get more free time during the week; it seems like we're very scheduled, which I don't much enjoy.
